Our Mission

At HigherEd Heart, we understand the unique qualities of higher education. We also understand that the demographics of higher education are changing rapidly. With the quickly evolving landscape often comes a need to recalibrate offerings, adjust organizational structures, and right size the institution.

We have special expertise in assisting institutions of higher education in:

finding merger or alliance partners,
developing robust differentiation strategies,
assisting in program prioritization,
assessing cost structures of organizations,
communicating necessary changes, and
implementing cost reduction plans.

Our Team

Dr. Nancy Hubbard, DPhil, FRSA has had two careers--one in higher education and one in consulting. Nancy taught at the University of Oxford (U.K), Goucher College (Towson, Md.), and the University of Lynchburg where she served as Dean as the College of Business for six years. During this tine enrollment grew to a ten-year high. She also created ten new multidisciplinary majors and minors across the institution.

Prior to returning to higher education, Nancy worked as a strategy management consultant with Spicer & Oppenheim (now part of Booz, Allen & Hamilton) in Hong Kong and London as well as KPMG's Post Merger Integration Unit in London. She has consulted in 26 countries throughout the world on organizational strategy, acquisition planning, communication, and implementation, as well as all aspects of change management.

Nancy graduated from Georgetown University with a double BSc in Marketing and International Business, the University of Oxford with a MSc in Management (Industrial Relations/Human Resource Management) and a DPhil in Management (Merger and Acquisitions). She is a Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce (UK).

Nancy works with a variety of fellow academics to deliver the appropriate skills profile for each client. Thy are all highly experienced educators with substantial consulting experience.
